Tecla is a child of single mother. Her father abandoned them for another woman, leaving the mother to struggle so much in raising the children alone. They have no land and the mother has no job. She relies on casual jobs that are hardly available. Tecla is very responsible and she assists her mother in house works like cooking and washing. She performs welll in school and she would like to become a doctor someday.
