Her father works as a messenger and earns an average of CAD250 per month while her mother cannot work because she was recently diagnosed of enlargement of the heart and ovarian cysts. Ma. Rena helps her mother before and after going to school, taking good care of her siblings and by doing heavy household chores. Ma. Rena participates well in group discussions and performs well in written tests. She wishes to become a teacher and it is her dream to be able to give her big family a chance to experience a better life someday with a home of their own since they are renting a house.
