Joan comes form a very poor family in East Pokot. Her father is a barber while her mother is a house wife. The parents make USD40 per month from the barber shop. This is unable to take care of the family since they come from Pokot which is very dry and drought prone. Joan wants to be teacher in the future and help her poor family get out of poverty.
